    Nationwide Port Productivity Concerns

    Just about everyone in transportation and import/export is looking for an increase in efficiency, and the ports are usually where we look. There are many opportunities for improvement within the supply chain. As a US Top 40 Exporter, Anderson Hay has about 55 loads a day currently going to port, solely from our headquarters in Ellensburg, WA, one of our three plants. Along with thousands of others in the supply-chain, our everyday operations are directly   dependent on how smoothly things go at marine terminals.

    Anderson Hay highlighted in Choose Washington campaign video

    Anderson Hay was honored to be highlighted in the newest video for the Choose Washington campaign. In this video from the Department of Commerce “world-class companies explain why they choose Washington as a place to do business, including its pioneer spirit, diversity, connectivity, passion and can-do culture.” Six companies with international business ties were highlighted to demonstrate the qualities exemplified by successful businesses in Washington State.

    Anderson Hay Featured in Department of Commerce Videos

    Anderson Hay & Grain Co., Inc. is honored to be a part of a new video series developed by the Washington State Department of Commerce. As the leading exporter of hay and straw products, Anderson Hay was asked to be featured in ‘Export Washington’. This series of short videos was created by Commerce to highlight Washington State companies who are stimulating the local economy by exporting local products. Commerce hopes to raise awareness about the many benefits associated with foreign exports.

    Anderson Hay keeps shipments as PNW battles winter weather conditions

    The last week or so has brought serious transportation and shipping challenges as winter finally hits the Pacific Northwest. The Governors of both Oregon and Washington have declared a State of Emergency for their states. With snow, ice and now flooding crippling the flow of transportation, the team at Anderson Hay is working hard to keep our shipments going. Along with snow closing several critical mountain passes, many ports experienced closures as much of the Seattle metro area shut down last week. Anderson Hay has been able to trouble shoot the numerous weather related issues without any major problems arising.

    As the winter weather has arrived, it’s time to think about highway safety. As the leading exporter of hay and straw products in the world, Anderson Hay is commited to safe, on time delivery of our products to ports along the west coast. This means that our truck drivers are navigating ddaily through adverse weather conditions. Our highest priority is the safety of our team and others on the road as they travel throughout the Western United States this winter. Many start their days long before the sun rises and while the rest of us are still warm in our beds. There are also many who are still traveling after the sun has set and we are home safe with our families. Our team members are out on the roads, crossing mountain passes and battling adverse weather conditions. They venture into wind, ice and snow to ensure safe delivery.
